Ringers formed in 2003 in New London and have been playing in Connecticut, Rhode Island, and New York ever since. In the spring of 2005, the band recorded 6 songs onto an enormous hard drive in Zyllion studios. As for musical points of reference, we submit the following: Drummer 'Doctor' Matt Allen was weaned on the disparate sounds of The Police and Led Zeppelin. Guitarist Ryan Birmingham digs on Primal Scream and Pixies. Vocalist Brock Johnson's father is a jazz pianist, but his ear is tuned to QOTSA and Television (the band, not the furniture). Bassist Michael Hanna's tastes tend towards the music of Braid and James Brown. We think that if you like any of these bands from the prestigious annals of rock and roll, you'll love Ringers.
